Inaugurated in October 1969, Cap3000 is the first shopping centre to be opened in France. A true urban project, carried out in the continuity of the city and in harmony with the sea and the mouth of the Var, the extension of the centre is the largest currently being carried out in Europe.

Cap 3000 embodies a renewed concept of retail facilities, which combines leisure, services and art (two monumental sculptures outside, a monumental digital suspension system with The Wave). As for the architectural project for the renovation, it was carried out by the Groupe-6 architectural firm and the Jouin Manku interior design firm, and was inspired by the meandering lagoons of the Var.

The artworks: "Bubbles Forest" and "Dandelions" designed for Cap3000, were created from natural and delicate plant forms.

The installation "Bubble Forest" was created as a free reflection on the ability of plants to produce oxygen. The so-called forest consists of 18 steel branches/trunks terminated by inflorescences/crowns in the form of spherical structures representing a single air bubble.

The installation "Bubble Forest" refers not only to the flora of the earth, but also to the flora of lakes, seas and oceans.

The " Dandelions "is an installation directly inspired by the sophisticated construction of naturally occurring dandelions (Taraxacum officinale). The concept for this work was preceded by a meticulous analysis of the construction of dandelions, which was then transposed to a macro scale. As a result, the delicate plant motif has taken on a whole new dimension - half futuristic, half fairy tale.
